WHAT A BRIDGE FAMILY MEMBER LOOKS LIKE
Family Membership at The Bridge connects you to the flow of the church and empowers you to serve God with greater purpose and passion. God has called every believer into a community of faith, as one body, with a great vision for the future. Bridge Family Membership helps the pastoral staff identify, know and build relationship with the individuals they serve.
You are a member of Godʼs very own family…and you belong in Godʼs household with every other Christian. – Ephesians 2:19
1. United in Doctrine – Our Worship of God
And they continued steadfastly in the apostleʼs doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. – Acts 2:42
Can two walk together, except they be agreed? – Amos 3:3
And if no one prevails against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. – Ecclesiastes 4:12
Life is bigger than us, and we need to be connected to something bigger than this life to overcome it. His Word, His heart, and His life are expressed in Jesus, and in Jesus Christ we live. Connecting with Godʼs plan for your life means loving Him and serving others.
We want to help you connect with the core issues of living a spiritually-empowered life in Christ. Through involvement at The Bridge, you can embrace the pursuit of lifeʼs greater purpose and challenge of spirit-empowered living.
2. United in Fellowship – Our Connections to One Another
Under His direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. – Ephesians 4:16 (NLT)
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! – Psalm 133:1
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, His son, cleanses us from all sin. – 1 John 1:17
Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in Heaven. – Matthew 18:19
The dynamic result of people coming together in agreement is a powerful tool. A single person with a message can change people; a people unified behind the message can change nations.
By being a part of The Bridge, you will enter into new, meaningful relationships that you might otherwise miss by staying on the fringe of our church family. While working and serving with others, you have an opportunity to develop God-given gifts, abilities, and leadership within our church family that will lead to a personal path of spiritual growth, Christian maturity, and godly service. Through the relationships you build, you will become more accountable to others in your spiritual journey, that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything (James 1:4).
3. United in Service – Our Calling to Community
You also, living as stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. – 1 Peter 2:5
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. – Matthew 18:20
And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you. – 1 Thessalonians 5:12
Praising God and having favor with all people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. – Acts 2:47
A community of believers united in word, united in heart, and united in purpose will show a love that transcends the four walls of a church building and creates a tangible expression of the Fatherʼs love that is felt in every sphere of influence. Families, communities, cities, and nations will know that God dwells with simple men, and life change can happen.
Our hope is that through your involvement at The Bridge, your walk with Christ will deepen. We hope you will experience greater commitment to our Savior and share in the vision of our church, actively serving in an area of ministry that is in line with your God-given design. Your loving service within our church family will have an eternal impact in your life and the lives of others. We believe in one God, who exists in three Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is loving, holy, and just.
We believe that the Bible is Godʼs inspired Word. It is accurate and complete and guides us in all manner of living.
We believe that sin has separated us all from God, and we are reconciled to God only through Jesus Christ. God desires that no one be separated from Him, which is why He sent His Son.
We believe that Jesus Christ is both God and Man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He led a sinless life, took all our sins upon Himself, died, and rose again. Today, He is seated at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Mediator.
We believe that salvation is the gift of God to man. Through faith in Jesus Christ, the grace of God is manifested and produces works of righteousness that is pleasing to God.
We believe that water baptism is an outward act that demonstrates a believerʼs identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter and is sent to convince us of our righteousness. He guides us in all areas of our lives. He also blesses us with spiritual gifts and empowers us to yield the fruit of the Spirit.
We believe that the Holy Communion is a celebration of Jesusʼ death and our remembrance of Him.
We believe that God wants to transform, heal, and prosper us, so that we can live blessed and victorious lives that will impact and help others.
We believe that we are called to preach the gospel to all nations.
We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again, just as He promised.
