Connecting to God....Connecting to People
| God Worshipped — the focus of our lives We are desperate for an encounter with God. Through our worship, we create a place for God to dwell in and gain access to our lives. In this, the priority of eternity is established. We become worshippers. Our response to His love is cultivated by our understanding of His grace. He reached out to us, He called us out by name, and He provided such a great salvation that we should be called sons and daughters of God. We live to honor Him because He so honored us. We live to please Him because He is pleased with us. Therefore, the second commission that our Savior gave to us is attainable – we are accepted and loved. As a result, we have the capacity to love and accept others. | |
| Faith Lived — convictions to be lived out and seen Psalms 40:3; Acts 22:14-15 Our faith is lived out and established on the hearts and lives of people who know their God. The question that must be put to rest for every believer is, "To whom do we belong?" You find this question being asked from the Garden of Eden in Genesis to the deserts of Israel in Matthew. In some form or another, the question of whose authority are you under is being asked. The problem is not found in the question but in the answer. Faith alone is not the answer. For it’s been proven that we can have faith in “works of religion” and find ourselves frustrated and lost. If our faith is built on principle and biblical logic alone, we are left with good information but little life change. We cannot exchange relationship with God for principles about Him. Jesus provided a way for us to reconnect with our Father. He lived out His life to show a living, breathing faith. A faith that invests more time enjoying what we are in Jesus, rather than what we’re not in ourselves. A faith that is built on authority, knowledge, and Son-ship. A touchable, reachable kind of faith that is sustained by love. Through face-to-face encounter with God and life-to-life living with others, our faith will find expression. Change will happen, and "in-Christ" living becomes a visible, tangible faith that proclaims: we are of Christ!
